What is Bre-B?
Bre-B is Colombia's new payment system, built and operated by Banco de la República, Colombia's central bank. It works across banks and digital wallets in Colombia, letting recipients receive money directly into the app or account they already use. Instead of sharing a full bank account number, recipients register a llave (phone number, ID, or email) to receive transfers. Bre-B launched in late 2025 and is already used by 34 million Colombians. It is now available to send with Ria.
What is a llave?
A llave is a phone number, ID, or email that your recipient registers with their bank or wallet to receive money through Bre-B. Instead of asking for a long bank account number, you just enter whichever key they have registered. When you use Ria to send with Bre-B, the money goes straight to their account.
How does Bre-B work?
